    85 W150 Project

Bout a month ago, I picked up this project truck. It was barely running when I got it home, firing on 7 cylinders with the 8th blowing back through the carb (found the lifter in #7 was totally shot). It was my intention to pull the motor (318) and drop in another that I had freshened up (318 from a 78 Valiant with 60k), and then work to rebuild the original. So I pulled the motor out and put in my donor and now I just about got this buttoned up. After fixing a few minor issues with doors not opening/closing, hood not latching, and front axle not engaging, I was able to give her a quick run out on some local trails. No major leaks and nothing broken, so I'm happy about that. The more I think about rebuilding that 318, the more I think I should just grab a 360 and rebuild that and drop it in. So I'm keeping my eye out for one. Nice to have an ol beat up truck to run around in again though. And nice to be sitting on some Dana 44s again too! Anyways, just thought I'd pop in and share whats been eating my time. See you in on the trails.

Cool project! Looks like a lot of bang for the buck.

Thanks! I think it's been a great bank for the buck. Next up while I'm hunting down a good value on tires, I think I do an add-a-leaf up front and a shackle swap in the rear with mabe some sheby springs to get a little more height to keep from tearing up the 33s that are on there.

Buy springs for the front or do a Chevy 52 swap. Add a leafs suck in a Dodge.
