    Slick Rock re-route

Figured I'd post this for anyone who didn't know, but slick rock has a new reroute from the Lake Alpine side that opened in August. I only went through a small bit since it was a little more than my jeep could handle, so not really sure how far it goes / how tough it is.

You said the Alpine Lake side. Can you give us an idea just what was by passed and where this is? Is this North or South of the campsites right at the creek?
Its just a road with a few rocks, keep driving!

Its from the lake alpine hwy 4 side. If youre talking about the cgs by Utica thats the other side of the trail entirely. This is the very start of the trail from hwy 4, about 3/4 of a mile. I don’t think its as hard as the rest of the trail, from what I’ve heard. I have heard that its added a few new obstacles from the original 3/4 mile of trail though.

That is correct, they had to reroute around private property after the owner built a home out there. Running from south to north UP the new section is pretty tough. It is loose and has some big rocks. Running down it isn't that bad since gravity is helping you out.
