    Shops in town

I have a '97 Wrangler w/ a blown head gasket and rather than fix it I'm getting another one and want to take the after market stuff off the dead one and put it on the new one. Can anyone recommend any shops in town that would do stuff like that?

    Thanks

Question is are you willing to pay the shop rates that much to swap stuff? $100-$120 per hour will add up quick depending on how much you have to swap. A head gasket is really not that big of a deal on the wrangler. Most any shop in town should do what you are wanting on a by the hour job. How much after market stuff are you swapping? Wheels and tires or axle swap and an atlas?

The Jeep hobby can get really expensive if you aren't willing/able to do some of your own wrenching. Fortunately most things are pretty simple - un bolt the stock part, bolt on a new shiny one. Having two vehicles would be a good way to learn, you can always refer to the other one if you get confused about how something goes together.

Thanks for the reply. It's mostly things like wheels, bumpers, possibly the lift, etc. Problem with the head gasket fix as I understand it on this one is the engine compartment and most of the undercarriage is severely rusted. Had a couple of places look at it-one wouldn't even touch it because of the amount of rust. I'm relatively new to the area and I'm not very familiar with what shops are even around.

It's from the midwest. Michigan, Illinois, and Indiana winters for 20 years really did it in with he rust. That's the reason I'm not going to try to fix this one.
