I got my shot last week. No side effects.

Except the part where I pulled down my pants and gave the nurse the whole fruit bowl. (Didn't know that it was suppose to be taken in the arm).

Are there long lines where they give them? I've never been to get one so I dont know what it like

I thought about getting one, but I never get sick. Probably all the strange sh1t they were constantly giving us in the military. They gave us shots for everything, Anthrax, Plague, Maleria... even the VD penicillin shot in the ass with the big garden hose size needle just so we would know what it was like in an effort to discourage our interests in local military town hookers. When I got out I had a shot record book the size of a Chinese dictionary, I passed it along to my doctor at the time, he said he didn't even know what a small percentage of the stuff in there was.

You didn't have to get a shot, you could have done the nasal spray. Though they say the nasal spray could make some people sick who have a weak immune system since it uses a "inactive" virus rather than a "dead" one like the shots contain. The old school shots use to also use the "inactive" virus, which was known to make people sick. You can't get sick from a dead virus that they are using in the modern shots, maybe you already got the flu and it was too late for the shot.

It contains Thimerosal which contains approximately 49% ethylmercury.

Some Autism kooks like Jennie McCarthy have tried to say the thimersol is causing autism. There have been numerous studies disproving any link between thimersol and Autism. Thimersol is, as you can read, a preservative that's been used safely in vaccines since about the '30's.

I have never had any faith in the flu shot. This year I started looking into them a little more and found some frightening info on them. I don't believe everything I see/read on the internet but there is some pretty scary $hit out there.

My dad never had a flu shot. He was very healthy. Then someone talked him into getting one about 10 years ago. The flu got into his heart and gave him a heart attack. Now he has a pig valve and a pacemaker/defibrillator.

I don't take any "medicine", and I'm just fine. I get sick once a year for a few day when the weather changes and that's about it. I have no allergies, and I'm pretty healthy. Heck, I don't even eat "right" and I'm not fat or out of shape.

I'm sorry to hear that about your Dad. It wasn't from the flu shot though. It does not give you the flu. Sometimes people get the flu right after getting the shot by coincidence. It takes 2 weeks for the body to make antibodies against the flu once you get the shot. So if you come in contact with flu and it hasn't been 2 weeks since you got the shot, you're most likely going to get it.

I'm glad to hear you aren't in one of the priority groups for H1N1 flu, you're healthy and over 25. The priorities are pregnant women, little kids (starting at 6 mos), and people with major medical probs (asthma, diabetes, heart probs, etc).

Careful what you read on the internet. Most of it is $hit, especially about any kind of immunizations. The H1N1 vaccine this year isn't any different than the regular seasonal flu vaccine, in terms of safety. Did you know the seasonal flu kills 30,000 people every year? Do you think any of them got their flu shot? Maybe a few did. I get my flu shots every year but then again I'm exposed to flu way more than the average person.

Yah and how many of those people where either on thier deathbed, already had health issues?

I understand the young, but most of the Hog flue cases and regular flu cases are being portayed as blaming the flu. Its not the flu, its the underlying problems people have before they get sick.

Yeah, without the flu they'd keep on living with "just their underlying problems." So it is correct to blame the flu. That's the whole idea of the flu shot, keeping the people with underlying problems ALIVE.

You don't think all these people dying is a big deal? Are they not supposed to include people in the death numbers if they had previous conditions? Perhaps you don't understand the goal of immunizations.

Simply put, don't put things into your body that you don't need.
Eat healthy, exercise, drink lots of fluids, and get out in the sun. That's all you need to successfully combat the flu virus IF you get it.
Granted if you have a disorder that requires extra protection, then maybe it's a good idea, but for the majority of people--the vast majority--you simply don't need any medication outside of a few aspirin and maybe some pepto. I take diphenhydramine (benedryl) every once in a while for allergies or to help fall asleep.

I've mentioned this book before, go read it! It's well researched.
