Hey did any of you wizards of technology:P ever dye PVC??? Is there any way to dye it without ridiculously expensive petroleum dye?? Any chemists here??? When I say dye I mean REALLY dye it not just surface coat but penetrate.

Yeah I found a couple of websites that show RIT dye being used and it looks good. Guess I'll have to try that.

I've used rit dye to dye PVC. Seems to work best if you heat the water. What I found is the longer you leave the piece submerged in it the darker the color is, and it penetrates deeper. I usually put the part in it while the dyed water is hot and let it sit in there overnight.

Well I don't have a bong or a roof rack and you all will find out why I want to dye PVC in due time. But here's my first attempt at RIT dying PVC and it turned out so nice and pink. It also warped one of the parts. Not good.
