    Marlette Lake

I've been lurking here for a while but I finally found a reason to post something. I'm located in Carson city and I'm trying to figure out how to get to Marlette Lake. I've got a trail map that I bought from the Forestry Department and it looks like there is a way to get to the lake from the lakeview area. Is there anyone from Carson city who knows where the entrance to the trail is?

I'm looking for a good place to camp that is near Carson. If anyone knows of any good places I would love to hear. I have explored Prison hill and Goni road a little but since I am in a basically stock 4x4 Ford Ranger (31" tires and open rear) I haven't gotten to anything too crazy. Are there any good places to camp near by? I am hoping to find something in time for Labor Day.

Thanks for any help you guys can give me.

You can not drive to marlette lake. and current fire restrictions put you at a good 6 mile hike to the lake itself. good luck

So you cannot drive to Marlette from the tahoe side? Spooner is as far as you can go?

Unless something has changed, it has been closed off for as long as I know.

Yes - it's a hike in or mountain bike/horse ride from Spooner Lake Park but a good road as access is allowed to Park Rangers, USFS, NDOW, and emergency vehicles
