    My finished AX-10

Found a place close to home that's good for RC crawling.

As for the gear I'm running:
    Novac Rooster Crawler ESC
    Integty 55T Lathe motor
JR SX3 Pro Radio (got a really good deal on that)
HiTec High Torque servo for steering
7 cell saddle battery pack w/Elite 1500mAh batteries
Some softer springs on the front

    Future upgrades:
Stage 2 Kit (have it, just need to install it)
    Better tires
    Kreepy Krawler tire foams
Some better differential lockers to get rid of some of the slop
    VF bolt on Dig
MSD 2.2 "Rock Solid" BeadLock wheels
    Softer springs for the rear

    Nice Rig!

Love my AX10...a few simple upgrades really make the difference.
Before the satge 2 kit from CKRC and the Losi Rock Claws, I could barely
make it over the printer on my desk. Now I can easily clear both coffee mugs
    AND my scanner....
    Have fun!

The kit can be had for around $220 and it does not include any of the electronics. You still need to buy a radio ($40-200+), an electronic speed controller ($90-130+), motor ($20-50+), a battery ($20) and a charger ($50-140).

You can eaisly spend as much money on upgrades as the kit costs. Just depends on how far you want to go with it.

my advice would be to buy one off of rccrawler.com your looking easily 500+ to build a decent one. You can buy a decent ready to run or almost ready for around 200-300 just have to be patient and don't mind something with a little 'experience'

CKRC had an Axiom RTR for about $420.00. Don't know if they still have it or not.

    ...

Thanks for the info. I was into rc racecars a long time ago and my dad owned a track, but I dropped it. I got into 1:1 4x4 and have realized that this hobby is the most expensive I have gotten into. I think this may be a cheaper altenative for now.

I took it out to Moonrocks last Friday and had a blast until the weather started to turn. I'm probably going back out this Thursday or Friday again.

Or you could buy the exact same kit from their web site (rather than going to the actual store) with free shipping for $98 less:
    http://www.ckrccrawlers.com/shop/ind...roducts_id=297

Hell, even the normal price they list on the web site ($399) is less than what they would charge you if you walked into the store.
