    The wait begins...

Just turned in my CCW paperwork at the WCSO...

    So now I wait. Boo.

Anyone got their permit since the presidential change? How long did it take??? I was told approx. 110 days for NV and 51 days for Utah.

Wow. They're really stretching it to the legal limit there. By statute they're required to approve or deny in 120 days. I had mine in just under 60 IIRC.

When you get antsy in a couple months, call 'em up and say you just wanted to see how it was going/find out the status. They've always been real friendly when I call.

You'll like adding a gun later. Took me 20 min sitting in the lobby for them to make a new card.

It's still 120 days no matter who the president is. I waited 118....:maddance:

I plan on doing the initial qual with almost everything I own and maybe a few borrowed guns
I will find a patient instructor. I wish there were other things that could qualify for the shooting part like active participation in competition

    The Nevadans are weird man

We need to get them to change it so you only have to qualify with one auto just like the revolver

    LOL............................................. ok, fair enough.

For the record, Generic Semi Automatic qualifications were on the same bill as the Generic Revolver Clause. But the sniveling bastard Bernie Anderson claimed that each semi automatic was far too complicated for us mere mortals to be trusted with carrying without specific instruction, so he stood in it's way and the lobbying party here had to settle for revolvers only. Maybe someday.

My old one expired, so I had to do the course (like it). Took 31 days to get my current one.

Yeah, well handguns today are a little more advanced than the flintlocks you had back then.

Drive by's must have been a pain back then. Just imagine, reloading a flint lock on a brontosaurus.

If it's just damged they should issue it immmediately or within a VERY short time. You'll have to pay something though.

Right, Bernie Anderson spurred on by the NSCA's sniveling bastard Frank Adams.

Mine was back in just over 4 weeks and that was lyon county. I think Washoe was getting them out even quicker then.

In my limited experience that usually means things take a bit longer

When I was doing nics checks for gun purchases a few of the officers I dealt with always got delayed and we assumed it was so the feds could check the clearance

It is not a absolute at all. We just assumed that when they run your name they see that someone else has already been checking on you(for your clearance) so they make sure it is not for something bad.

I wouldnt worry about either way. I have heard the guys here is washoe like to stretch it as long as they can which is a shame but that is how it is.

Because they have to jump through hoops to get through your security clearance. My wife and I turned our applications in on the same day; her permit showed up at about 90 days and mine showed up at about 120 and I have a security clearance.
