    Fuel Range with Desert Tank

Thought it would be cool to figure out what kind of range various bikes are getting.

My 04' WR450 would get 70miles on the stock 2.8 gallon tank riding hard, about 25mpg

I would get 95 miles cruising, about 34mpg

I need to figure out how far I can get on my KTM 300 with the 3.5 gallon tank:

Need to figure out how far Laura can get on the RM 100 with the 2.4 gallon tank:

Wow, 70 miles. That explains why I always have gas left in my 3.1 tank on the YZ. Not even sure I needed the large tank. I'm sure my YZ uses a little more, but not much. I'm think about running the stock 1.8gal tank for shorter courses due to handling.
The 300 is probably gonna use more fuel, but figuring out the range would be nice. With the number of people running 300s, someone has to know.
Found out last week that my kid's RM65 (KX65) will go 27 miles on a tank, listed as 1 gal capacity. Possibly could make it to 30 miles. That's a lot better than I expected.

My 96 KTM300 gets about 65 miles on the stock tank 3.4 gallon riding hard.

Not sure about just cruising. That never seems to happen for long.

Wow, stock tank on my 300 was 2.25g. I have a 3.5 on there now. I guess if I still get 70 out of a tank I will be happy but was hoping for more.

    That's only about 19.1mpg for the 300.

That's with 14/50 gearing, plus the tall 5th gear on my WR. My buddy's YZ 450 always used more fuel than me because he was wrung out trying to keep up!

I have 13/50 gearing. It's like a tractor. I don't even bother wringing it out trying to keep up on road sections. Still think it gets great mileage for such a beast, tho.
