    Garage showcase

I like to browse garagejournal and look at other people garages to get ideas. Let's see your garages or workspaces.

My garage wasn't big enough so I decided to rent some shop space. It is pretty reasonably priced, especially if you split the cost between a couple of guys.

This won't give you any ideas, but I always smile when I run across this pic of my old garage. Lots of hobbies crammed into a small space.

Nothing fancy or innovative here but it's mine and I love it. Kinda crammed in there but it works for me. Biggest thing I can recommend is painting the walls and ceiling high gloss white. It reflects a ton of light back at your work. A ton of lights and power! I did three twin T8 fixtures per bay for a total of nine all separated out so each bay is on its own circuit and switch. Also installed a 200A sub panel for the oven, compressor, plasma & welder.

Future plans are to fix the holes from said panel install, epoxy the floor, and install some flush mount speakers in the lid for better tunes.

Installed some LED garage lights, bought them at Lowe's.

Here's a little video of them in action and my 11 year old's reaction.

How do you like these cost wise? When I did my florescent fixtures, I think I paid like $8 ea. plus the cost of bulbs made it kinda spendy.

I paid $44 per light. It was kinda pricey, but well worth it IMO once you flip the switch on. And, hopefully, the lights will last longer than my fluorescent bulbs have been. I figure these will pay for themselves in a few years and I'll be safer and more productive meanwhile.

I had that idea too. Warehouse space is cheap here! I had a business and we had 1400 SF with a bathroom heat and air fir $775. Not bad if you share it. Plus the kids can't just open the door and stumble in...

My garage is pretty awesome and amazing. If I park JUST RIGHT i can get both vehicles to fit with enough room to get out of the drivers seat, and I can ALMOST walk around them. almost.

Nah, i moved the fridge over behind the nover and now I can actually walk around to get a beer with the cars in there as long as I only leave about 2" between the front bumper and the door.

sigh. I need to build a shop.

    Needs paint.

Otherwise in awesome shape. Interior is prolly 98%, everything underneath is pristine. 68,000 miles. Started out with a 307, but its decently built. Edelbrock intake and carb, not sure what cam (I didnt build this engine), double hump heads, headers, true duals, discs up front...

    you may begin bidding :-)

Costco has these on sale for $25 for right now, down from $30. Or 2 for 50 on their website. Looks like the rating is a bit higher, too. 3700 lumens @38w, and 50,000 hr life
